OK, here is our schedule for the last 4 lessons and through exams. (IASAS students, see below in blue)
Everything in red is optional.
- Lesson 1 (Mon 18th C block, Tue 19th F block) – Review Vectors and 3D Geometry (Revision will be on blog by the end of today)
- Tuesday 19th April (during tutorial) – Optional Vectors and 3D Geometry quiz. (Grade will only go into PowerSchool if it helps).
- Lesson 2 (Wednesday 20th April) – Test on Vectors and 3D Geometry
Holidays (21st to 24th)
- Lesson 1 (Mon 25th C block, Tue 26th F block) – Focused revision for paper 1 and 2
- Tuesday 26th April (during tutorial) – Optional SRG quiz. (Grade will only go into PowerSchool if it helps).
- Wednesday 27th April – Focused revision for paper 1 and 2
Exams
- Wed 4th May – Math HL paper 1
- Thu 5th May – Math HL paper 2
- Fri 6th May – Optional SRG revision session (11.30 – ???). We’ll supply pizza.

In preparation for your TEST on Wednesday (Mar 16), you should complete the Paper 3 exam from May 2010 as posted by Ms. van. Working additional problems is also advised. I will prioritize questions about the Option on our Monday lesson.

Hi everyone,
- I gave you a copy of last year’s paper 3 exam, please do it by next Wednesday (2nd March). It is also on the blog in the post ‘SRG – Revision and take-home quiz’. Feel free to look things up, you are not really trying to do this first one under exam conditions or time constraints.
- I have put some more practice questions up on the blog… (in SRG-Revision post) the first few pages will be familiar as they are the same questions you had for part 1, but the rest are for part 2 of the option. (Moderately useless markscheme also on blog). Do as much of this as humanly possible before next week.
- I have posted a Take-Home Quiz for part 2 of the option. It will be due on Wed 9th. You can ask for help if you need it. (Whatever you need to help you learn it). I doubt you will be able to do the last question until after class on Wed 2nd… we will be going through a similar question then on that day.
Here is my plan for the next couple of weeks.
- Wed 2nd march – hand out the full set of proofs (go over briefly), go over the May 2010 P3 exam (that you will have done for homework), go over the ‘gotcha’ question. This is the LAST lesson on the option.
- Friday 4th March – Begin Vectors, Cartesian ( i, j, k) vectors in 2D and 3D
- Tues 8th March – scalar product and apps, lines in 2D and 3D
- Wed 9th March – vector product and apps (Take-Home Quiz DUE)
- Friday 11th March – Planes (Cartesian, vector, parametric form)
- Tues 15th March – TEST on OPTION
- Wed 16th March – Planes (normal form)
- Friday 18th March – Intersecting lines and planes
We can do this (I think) (I hope), but you are going to have to do some serious homework, and you will have to start asking me for help during tutorials.
For CulCon folks: please try to do the May 2010 P3 exam and the review questions before you go away. Also, I suggest you also start on the Take-Home quiz. We’ll make the take-home quiz due on Friday 11th March for you 3.
